Mission Statement

First Christian Church Mission Statement
Focal Verse: "So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You" He said to him, "Tend My lambs."
He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Shepherd (or Lead) My Sheep."
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, " Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You "Jesus said to him, "Tend my sheep" (John 21:15-17 NASB).
Vision Statement: We, at First Christian Church, take the challenge that Christ made to Peter and apply it personally to the purpose and reason that we exist as a body. Jesus tasked Peter to three responsibilities: LEAD, FEED, and TEND to His sheep and lambs once He was gone. First Christian has taken these challenges and applied them as the basis of all that we do by LEADING in a Christ centered worship; FEEDING with an ample supply of God's Word; and TENDING to the flock with anointed prayer and Chrisitan love. All that we strive to become and achieve will be formed by these responsibilities.
FCC in Action: First Christian Church will achieve this vision for the body by building upon Jesus' challenge with:
LEADING BY:
1. Christ centered worship
2. Supporting local and overseas missions
3. Being a church that is for everyone, regardless of age or background
4. Maintaining a constant outreach to the community and local area to
promote the name of Christ
5. Forming a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere that is receptive to all
6. Being an active church that constantly seeks ways to reach outwardly,
while building inwardly
FEEDING BY:
1. Simply teaching the Bible simply
2. Equipping the saints in studies of on-going discipleship
3. Housing a church for believers that is witness equipping
TENDING BY:
1. Focusing on anointed prayer and consistently building a house of prayer
2. Becoming a beacon or a lighthouse for our community and the lost
3. Providing community assistance in a spiritual nature for the hurting,
misplaced and unfortunate
This is our purpose as a church, but all that we do will be ultimately led by bringing glory to God and enjoying Him forever.
